Biography of Dr Kumari Valentine (PhD, Registered Clinical Psychologist)
Dr Kumari Fernando Valentine is a Dunedin-based clinical psychologist who specialises in the field of mindfulness and overthinking. Dr Kumari had a radio show "The Conscious Adventurer" which was about being kinder to ourselves, each other, and the world.
She was awarded Fellowship of the NZ College of Clinical Psychologists in recognition of her contribution to clinical psychology in New Zealand. Dr Kumari is the editor of the Journal of the NZ College of Clinical Psychologists. Dr Kumari is both an academic and a practicing clinician.
She was a senior lecturer at Central Queensland University and held the same position at the University of Otago.
